Rubber business involves various sectors: farmers, private and public sector, production sector, consumption sector as well as international rubber organizations which are equally important to the development of rubber industry but different in roles:

1. Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries: ANRPC serves as an authentic and up-to-date information resource center of natural rubber industry; promotes activities conducive to sustainable growth in production, processing, marketing and consumption of natural rubber; identifies short, medium and long-term challenges and opportunities by undertaking suitable studies on rubber industry; establishes linkages with relevant institutions including international rubber organisations for information sharing and technical cooperation; and makes policy recommendations to Member Governments whenever necessary. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ANRPC currently comprises of 11 member countries.

2. The International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB) is a research and development network which brings together natural rubber research institutes in virtually all the natural rubber producing countries in order to control and make policy on research and development of natural rubber. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, IRRDB currently comprises of 19 member countries.

3. The International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) is an inter-governmental organisation composed of rubber producing and consuming stakeholders, established to facilitate the interaction between the industry and the Group, a Panel of Associates with members of organisations. Headquartered in Singapore, IRSG currently comprises of 36 members, including government and private sectors, producers, consumers and traders of both natural rubber and synthetic rubber.

4. International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC) comprises of representatives from 3 countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. ITRC is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the NR supply measures, viz. Supply Management Scheme (SMS) and the Agreed export Tonnage Scheme (AETS). It also compiles and analyses production and export data for ministerial committee. TRA President is one of ITRC’s Management Committee members.

5. International Rubber Consortium Limited (IRCo) was established through partnership of 3 producing countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia in order to achieve a long term price trend that is stabilized, sustainable and remunerative to farmers, to maintain a supply-demand balance and to ensure adequate supply of natural rubber in the market at fair prices. IRCo regulates policies, schemes and marketing operation in order that rubber growers get remuneration with fair production costs and selling prices. TRA President is one of IRCo’s Management Committee members. IRCo is headquartered at Rubber Research Institute of Thailand, Bangkok.

6. International Rubber Association (IRA) is responsible for formulating rubber trade practices and preparing international rubber contracts. Headquartered in Hatyai, Thailand, IRA currently comprises of 21 members from 13 countries, including both producing and consuming countries.  Mr. Paul Sumade Lee, Chairman of Sri Trang International Pte Ltd is highly honoured to assume the post of IRA Chairman with Mr. Supadetch Ongsakul, TRA Deputy Secretary General serving as the IRA Executive Secretary for the term 2013-2014.

7. ASEAN Rubber Business Council (ARBC) has these main objectives: 1) to establish a forum for members to exchange views on matters of mutual interest; 2) to establish closer rapport through exchanges of market information, trade visits, organizing of seminars and marketing forum 3) to consult and discuss common trade practices and problems 4) to monitor the progress and development of the natural rubber industry in member countries, 5) to foster closer co-ordination 6) to maintain an Executive Committee within the Council to decide on administrative and financial matters; 7) to maintain an Economics and Statistics Committee to be responsible for trade matters and the collection, analysis and dissemination of market information. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, ARBC Currently comprises of 6 member countries, viz. Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam - and Cambodia.

The cooperation and close relations with relevant international rubber organizations is an important role of the Thai Rubber Association for the sustainable development of the world's natural rubber industry.
